Isiolo - Marsabit Highway, the Great North Road

The Isiolo to Marsabit Road is a critical infrastructure that links various urban areas and natural sites in the Great North of Kenya.

The road links the towns of Isiolo and Marsabit. Along the highway, there are small towns like Archers Post, Sereolipi, and Merille.

Additionally, the Great North road extends from Marsabit to Moyale, along the Kenya-Ethiopia border.

Travelers using the road can enjoy scenic mountains and dry riverbed views and experience diverse nomadic cultures.

The Isiolo - Marsabit Highway has reduced the road travel duration between Isiolo and Marsabit to just three hours, covering a distance of 258km.

Isiolo-Marsabit-Moyale Highways is part of the Lamu Port and Lamu-Southern Sudan-Ethiopia Transport Corridor (LAPSSET) infrastructure that links Kenya with Ethiopia and other countries in the Northern region.

Commerce and economic investments are increasing rapidly in the Northern Kenya regions as the Great North road facilitates the transportation of products and passengers in a secure environment.
